Pricing
Price your items in $ .50 increments. If a purchaser will pay $3.00 for your shirt, they will most likely pay $3.50. You will see a big change in your contributor check. Also, when pricing your items, ask yourself, “Would I pay “$X for this item.” If you would pay more, add a dollar or maybe two. The people who make the most money have higher quality items priced in the ranges of $5 to $15. A few high quality items will really add up quickly. Keep in mind that your goal is to sell your items; otherwise you are taking them back home at the end of the sale. Be careful not to overprice.
Sets sell best.
Always pair your items whenever possible.
Hang them correctly
Hang clothing correctly to upper portion of hanger. Customers pass by clothing that is tangled on hanger because it is too much trouble to deal with.
Wrinkles Free
Do not consign items that are excessively wrinkled.

Hairless
Consign items that are free of pet hair.
Button, snap, or tie
If it buttons…button it.
If it snaps…snap it.
If it ties…tie it.
Market your clothes to the buyers. You are competing with other contributors for purchasers to pick your clothes to buy. Consumers are being very careful with their money in this economy.
Timing is everything
Be aware that each sale is unique in quantity of certain sizes. For example, we may have a huge amount for girls’ size 5 this sale and a limited supply of boys’ size 3 and vice versa next sale. It all depends on which families consign. Each sale is unique. This is especially true with our larger sizes. Two or three families can greatly supply our larger sizes. Be sure to check us out regularly. Just because one sale may have a small supply, you may hit the jackpot next time.
